Summer Camp Updates

We will continue to run our summer camps this 2020 with a few updates and changes that I would like to share with you.

During the process of re-evaluating our summer camps, the first principle we built our offering on is safety. We pushed back our summer camps until July in order to monitor the situation in San Mateo county, reduced the number of participants for each camp, and instituted a comprehensive safety policy.

Even with all of these measures, we realize that some parents would still not be comfortable with sending their children out without the assurances of a vaccine or effective treatment. We completely understand this line of reasoning and have worked to provide an awesome online alternative.

Our online camps will be hosted on Zoom with an instructor and a moderator. All tools, materials, and live class instruction are included and will be sent to your door a week prior to the camp start date.

We will be offering 3 weeks of camp onsite that will run concurrently with the online camps. Onsite campers will be limited to 5 during those weeks. Click below for more details about the Onsite and Online Options.

Clay House Art Summer Camp Safety Policy:

  1. On-site camps will be limited to 8-10 participants. Campers will have EXCLUSIVE use of the building from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, utilizing the full space to ensure maximum safety.
  2. We will be checking temperatures upon entry. Anyone with a fever will not be allowed entrance into the premises. If you are coughing please stay at home.
  3. Upon entry, we will require people to clean their hands. We will be providing hand sanitizer or you can opt to wash your hands in the bathroom.
  4. Masks will be required to participate in camp. We will provide campers with a FREE mask at the beginning of the week.
  5. Each camper will also receive a personal set of clay tools for their use
  6. Breaks. Every break-time, campers will wash their hands before returning to their activities. We will have supervised outdoor time throughout the day within our community.
  7. Tables, chairs, supplies, tools, and surfaces will be cleaned as needed, with deep cleaning occurring twice a day.
